Geophysical (Transient-Elektromagnetic) Exploration of Potential Well Fields around Choma Town, Southern Province, Zambia

The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) is an implementation agency within the scope of the German Development Cooperation (GDC). With the Technical Cooperation (TC) project “Integrated water management to increase climate resilience in Zambia’s Southern Province”, BGR supports the Zambian Ministry for Water Development and Sanitation (MWDS), the Water Resource Management Authority (WARMA) and the Southern Water and Sanitation Company (SWASCO) in groundwater monitoring, geophysical investigation and data driven water resource planning to strengthen long-term water security. The project activities focus on Choma in the Southern Province of Zambia. BGR as The Client intends to award a contract for geophysical exploration within the technical cooperation project “Integrated water management to increase climate resilience in Zambia’s Southern Province”. The aim of the exploration is to assess the suitability of sites within a target area as potential locations for a commercial wellfield. The work must be completed and all documents including the final report(s) must be submitted until 26 February 2027 at the latest. In particular field work must be finalized until 30 November 2026.
